Making music is the most fun I’ve ever had. It is so different to my other work, it offers a refreshing contrast. I don’t know if I’m good, I never have, but it seems to be a compulsion of mine to make it. I only began my music journey in 2022 and it has remained a key part of my self-expression.

I’ve been playing the guitar since I was 10 years old, with a mandatory 6 year gap in the middle somewhere. Writing has always been a very personal thing to me. I love it. I had to learn how to make music so that I could present poetry in a way that I and others could easily digest.

Petrichor EP

In late 2023, I recored a live demo of my first EP, ‘Petrichor’. Petrichor is the word used to describe the smell of rain. I wanted to create a sound that was 100% natural and raw with a main emphasis on the lyrics. The extended play featured 5 songs which I recorded with Sean Frayne at Fight Night Records.

I’ve always been drawn to album art, it was amazing to be able to make my own for the recording. That being said, I wanted to collaborate with an artist on the final covers for the EP to see how I could interpret their artwork. I worked with Mira Everson, interpreting her illustration into a series of artworks that represented each track.

Sean Frayne - In The Half-Light

Sean Frayne and I have been working together for over a year. When he decided to record acoustic versions of some of his hits for his EP, In The Half Light, he wanted me to perform on some of the tracks too. I recorded backing vocals and guitar as well as co-writing and recording an unreleased track for a seperate release. I learnt so much during the process and I’m excited to see what we do together in the future.

No Bull Pod

The No Bull Pod is a podcast that I co-host and produce with Joseph Yap. We talk to startup founders and co-founders about the tough decisions they have to make as founders. Being a No Bull product, we also try to get guests thought on sustainability and this in business. The podcast is recorded and filmed in different locations in Melbourne and Sydney.

We created the podcast to tie into my university course as research. We have now recoded over 10 episodes.
